Bagmoor Wind Farm
The Bagmoor site will be located on land north of Scunthorpe and approximately 2 km east of the village of Flixborough.

The cluster will consist of 8 wind turbines, with a capacity of 2 MW each. The turbines will have blades 45m long and be mounted on towers 80 m high.

The energy generated from Bagmoor Farm will provide renewable electricity to power the domestic needs of over 8,900 homes, and will prevent the emission of more than 15,000 tonnes of harmful carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year. This reduction in emissions would essentially be equivalent to removing 3,500 cars from the road.

Local residents will have the opportunity to invest in the project. Also, a proportion of the revenue from the wind cluster is usually offered to establish a Trust Fund for local community service programmes and initiatives. How the Trust Fund is used will be for the local community to decide.

The planning application for the Bagmoor Wind Farm was approved in March 2006 and construction should start in 2007.

Ridgewind’s partner in the project is Wind Prospect, a leading independent renewable energy developer, constructor and operator. Wind Prospect's address is 7 Berkeley Square, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1HG. www.windprospect.com
